About this quote
Armstrong's words as he stepped onto the Moon's surface on July 20, 1969 (July 21 in UTC), during Apollo 11. NASA's transcript puts the "a" in parentheses. Armstrong said he meant "one small step for a man", but the recordings do not clearly carry the "a"; the world heard "one small step for man".
