Attributed to the Buddha, Dhammapada verse 103 (Muller translation, 1881). The Dhammapada is a collection of verses from the Pali canon. The Buddha wrote nothing himself, and the collection credits the teaching to him. Popular versions ("The one who has conquered himself is a far greater hero...") reword it.
